Job Description

Job Objective
To drive sales growth, optimize market share, and achieve revenue targets by leading a high-performing sales and merchandising team. This role ensures sustainable business growth through strategy implementation, strong customer relationships, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Optimize profitability and ensure financial transparency for better decision-making.
  2. Track and manage sales expenses to prevent budget overruns.
  3. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements.
  4. Review processes and reports to inform strategic planning.
  5. Conduct thorough market research, collaborate on strategy development, and adapt plans to market changes.
  6. Engage in in-depth market analysis, collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate effective sales strategies, and remain agile to adjust plans in response to evolving market conditions.
  7. Implement strategy with third-party service providers and internal sales structure.
  8. Provide guidance, encourage collaboration, and offer support to ensure cohesive team progress.
  9. Provide effective leadership and teamwork, fostering an environment of collaboration and support, leading to improved team performance and successful attainment of business goals.
  10. Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales and merchandising team.
  11. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  12. Develop personalized interactions with customers, address their needs with tailored solutions, and consistently gather feedback to identify areas for improvement and strengthen relationships.
  13. Develop strong relationships with key retailers, wholesalers, and distributors.
  14. Regularly review customer engagement data to enhance service and support.
  15. Assist in research initiatives, gather data, and present findings for informed decision-making.
  16. Collaborate with market research teams, assist in data collection, conduct analysis, and present actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making.
  17. Gather sales data, collaborate with sales and marketing teams, identify patterns, and develop data-driven strategies to improve sales performance.
Qualification Requirements
  1. Matric/Grade 12
  2. Business management and/or sales qualification.
Experience Requirements
  1. Knowledge of the region and experience working with retailers and wholesalers in the region.
  2. Conflict resolution and negotiation principles; digital sales tools, CRM, and BI-driven analytics.
  3. At least 5 years of experience in FMCG sales, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  4. 3-5 years of experience in managing sales and driving team performance.
