As the company expands their footprint in the market, they are seeking an exceptional Sales Manager to take on a Player/Coach role, to join the growing team and help them achieve their ambitious growth goals.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on, dynamic leader who thrives in a dual role owning their own sales targets while managing and coaching a high-performing sales team.
In this role, you'll lead a team of 56 sales professionals, including Account Managers and Hunters, focused on driving new business and growing existing accounts. Supported by a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) who generate warm leads, you'll have the tools and resources needed to succeed.
Based in Johannesburg, you'll play a key role in driving revenue growth, developing the team, and strengthening client relationships with financial decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by Example: Drive your own individual sales success by meeting and exceeding your personal sales targets through direct client engagement and deal closure.
- Inspire and Coach: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 56 sales professionals, ensuring they achieve their goals and grow professionally.
- SaaS Expertise: Leverage your experience in SaaS sales to manage complex sales cycles, providing hands-on support to your team during key deals.
- FinTech Focus: Use your knowledge of the financial decision-making process to build strong relationships with CFOs, Credit Managers, and other stakeholders.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales plans to target mid-market and enterprise clients, maximizing revenue growth and team performance.
- Pipeline Oversight: Monitor and manage the teams sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting, timely follow-ups, and deal progression.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing coaching and training to improve the teams consultative selling skills and overall performance.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with SDRs, marketing, and product teams to align efforts, optimize lead conversion, and refine messaging for key audiences.
- Customer Success: Build long-term client relationships, positioning the platform as the ultimate solution for managing credit risk.
- Performance Metrics: Set clear KPIs, track team and individual performance, and implement strategies to close any gaps.
- Market Knowledge: Stay informed on market trends, industry developments, and competitor activity to keep the company ahead of the curve.
Requirements:
- SaaS Sales Experience: 5+ years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, with a track record of consistently exceeding targets.
- Sales Management Experience: You will be need to have experience in managing and growing sales teams. This role requires an individual experienced in leadership, coaching and driving results.
- FinTech Expertise: Experience selling into CFOs, Credit Managers, or other financial decision-makers is a strong advantage.
- Player/Coach Mindset: A proven ability to balance personal sales achievement with team leadership responsibilities.
