Role Purpose / Business Unit: This role resides within the Vodacom Talent Capability and Skills Transformation area. This CoE is responsible for:
- Setting Vodacom's talent and performance management strategy and assisting in evolving the talent and performance framework/tools and processes;
- Having a dedicated, global focus on the end-to-end talent and performance lifecycles for Vodacom;
- Participating in setting the global minimum assessment standards and providing associated tools for selection and development, ensuring inclusive and effective assessment practices.
The Talent and Performance lead is a key role responsible for ensuring data-driven talent and performance decision-making and that core, high-profile talent and performance processes run smoothly. It reports into the EHOD: Talent Capability and Skills Transformation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with Market Talent Leads to support them in defining a talent strategy for the Market, which is aligned to the Vodacom/Vodafone strategy.
- Working closely with Vodafone Talent and Performance Management teams to ensure that Vodacom stays aligned with Vodafone practices.
- Holding regular community calls with the Markets to ensure that they stay abreast of any changes in the Talent and Performance domains.
- Developing a Vodacom Africa Talent and Performance communications plan, which is aligned with the Vodafone communications plan and sharing with markets.
- Running capability build sessions with the Market Talent and Performance Leads.
- Partnering with Talent Acquisition to ensure the buy strategy is fully integrated into the overall talent strategy.
- Developing talent mobility strategies that will enable flexibility of talent movement across the Vodacom Markets.
- Developing a talent mobility framework and governance, which is aligned to the Vodafone strategy.
- Working closely with Emerging Youth Talent to ensure that the pipeline is aligned to the organization's TechCo transformation.
- Partnering with Market Talent Leads to ensure that there is clear succession planning for all scarce and critical roles.
- Developing a performance management framework (minimum standards) – Driving a high-performance culture.
- Driving implementation of key initiatives and programs within the Talent space.
- Partnering with Rewards to develop a retention strategy/framework for talent.
- Supporting EHOD Talent and Capability with Talent Reviews and Performance Calibrations across the Markets.
- Providing data analytics and insights to enable the organization to make informed Talent decisions.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- A post-graduate qualification will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated 8+ years' experience working in HR in Talent and Performance Management.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Experience in talent and performance management, facilitating Talent Reviews, Performance Calibration, succession planning, etc.
- Knowledge of best talent and performance management practices.
- High level of commercial acumen and business knowledge.
- Proven ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and decision making.
- Exposure to Talent Assessment tools.
- Expertise in data reporting and analysis.
- Experience and exposure to Talent Forums and Talent exchange initiatives at C-Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Highly discrete, as will be dealing with highly confidential data.
- Experience and exposure to Talent reporting tools and insights.
