Scope of Position:
Responsible to increase and grow the client base of the hotel through consistent solicitations and management of existing relationships to achieve, grow and maintain revenue and profitability of the hotel.
With the signing of hotel agreements with clients, the role requires that the occupancy and average daily rate of the hotel is maximized, whilst providing all the necessary information to help the clients make informed decisions on the purchase of blocks of rooms and production of special events.
Overall sales responsibility includes rooms, meeting and conference rooms, special events, all catering outlets, and any area that contributes to the overall profitability of the hotel.
Communicate on a daily basis with the Sales and Marketing Department at ACCOR Hotels, whilst maintaining clear reporting channels with the Director of Sales & Marketing. Responsible for coordinating and planning all client site inspections to the hotel.
Specific duties, responsibilities & Key performance areas
Commercial/Sales:
- Identify new target markets and business opportunities for ACCOR properties.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing clientele to ensure continual support for ACCOR properties and to ensure future business for properties.
- Ensure that properties budgeted sales and target figures are tracked daily and performance for each property is monitored and constructive measures are put in place to ensure targets and sales are met.
- Daily compare property revenue and occupancy forecast versus budget and actual.
- Represent hotels in various events and exhibitions.
- Implement all sales actions plans related to target markets areas as outlined in the marketing plan.
- Actively and daily review marketing plan and provide insight to property Director of Sales & Marketing and ACCOR sales and marketing team.
- Responsible for the development of property sales and marketing plans alongside property Director of Sales & Marketing and Reservations teams and ACCOR sales and marketing teams.
- Conduct daily sales calls and arrange site inspections for all properties.
- Target Key Accounts for potential business for all properties.
- Build brand awareness and conduct product training with all corporates, travel agents, PCO’s, and STO’s.
- Provide quick and timely response to properties to ensure development of a professional long-term business relationship with both client and property.
- Support the operations aspect of the business booked, quotations generated, and general enquiries to ensure maximum possible business achieved for each property.
Sales database and administration:
- Compile Hotel database for all markets and as custodian of the database, continuously update and manage the contacts and client lists.
- Develop and maintain a client matrix – CEO, procurement, travel agents, divisions and booking habits, trends, and rates.
- Attend regular meetings with CRE and the Director of Sales & Marketing to remain informed of new and fresh marketing ideas and drive efforts accordingly.
- Compile required sales reports and statistics linked to the acquiring and production of business and submit and present to owners and ACCOR Hotels.
- Regularly compile market research and ideas on hotel development and growth with regards to the current markets and client needs.
- Ensure all corporate signed agreements are accurately maintained and all processes followed on the administrative side.
- Create together with the ACCOR team detailed proposal documents, to be used as part of a formal tender process that is largely dictated by the prospective client.
- Regularly review own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets according to the incentive scheme set out.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of Sales experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
