The successful Sales Director will oversee the organisation's Electrical sales team to ensure they meet sales targets. They will be responsible for leading and motivating their team to make more sales and to improve their overall customer service skills with clients. The successful Sales Director will also be responsible for building strategic plans and goals for their team members to closely follow to ensure they hit their sales targets.
The successful incumbent will also be responsible for conducting research to help them determine what the sales team's weekly, monthly and quarterly sales quotas and objectives will be. After quotas are met, the Sales Director will write detailed sales reports for leadership members to review.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, execute and oversee strategies and plans to achieve the set business targets
Work to improve customer base.
Build and maintain good, lasting relationships with clients
Create and maintain accurate records and sales reports.
Determining the company's Electrical national sales strategy and relaying this to the Regional Sales Directors.
Receiving and analysing sales reports from Regional Sales Directors on a monthly basis
Reporting to the CEO on the status of the Sales Department
Supervising the activities of the Sales Staff.
Providing guidance to the Sales Staff, this includes the development of support material for sales staff and training sessions.
Communicating with new and existing clients for quality control purposes
Maintaining company's Electrical visibility by organizing or attending marketing events such as trade shows.
Market research on a continuous basis.
Communicating with Customer representatives and ensuring that customer receives technical assistance and support when needed.
Helping in the design of custom-made products.
Job Requirements:
Degree: Electrical Engineering/Sales/Marketing or related field.
At least 10 years experience as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing director
Proven sales executive experience in meeting, or exceeding targets
MUST HAVE successfully completed projects for the Municipalities and Metropolitans
MUST HAVE previously worked for or currently works for either Conlog, Landis+Gyr or Contec.
Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organisation, including executive and C-level (senior executives)
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
Proven ability to position products against competitors
Demonstrate experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
