NACOSA is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the Team Leader position in and around Cape Town to oversee and coordinate the effective and efficient implementation of group-based interventions by Community Facilitators in accordance with allocated targets, including tasks such as supporting logistical arrangements, coordinate, and review reporting activities.
Job Description
Born out of a national convention to draft the first national strategic plan for AIDS, NACOSA is now a leading national civil society organisation working collectively to build stronger, more equal, and healthy communities free from the burden of HIV. We do this by strengthening community systems, mobilising and managing resources, facilitating networking and collaborations, providing and enabling access to services and advocating, learning and sharing widely.
NACOSA works at all levels across the country – from international donor agencies, the corporate sector and national government, right through to sub-district services and small, community groups. Strengthening Community systems for NACOSA focuses on building networks for Community Based Organisations and Community Leadership
The Team Leader Role
The Determined, Resilient, Empowered, Aids-free, Mentored and Safe (DREAMS) programme provides a comprehensive package of core interventions to address key factors that make adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) particularly vulnerable to HIV. These include structural factors, such as gender-based violence, exclusion from economic opportunities, and a lack of access to secondary school. DREAMS layers multiple interventions at once so that AGYW are surrounded with critical support to keep them safe from HIV and other risks.
The Team Leader position will support and deliver on NACOSA’s USAID funded Community-based Violence Prevention and Linkages to Response in SA Programme. This HIV and GBV Prevention Programme focuses on delivering evidence-based group interventions to adolescent girls and young women and adolescent boys and young men (aged 15-19 and 20-24years). It further focuses on linkages and layering to secondary interventions services such as post violence care services to survivors who disclose, sexual reproductive health services, family strengthening and economic strengthening interventions.
Team Leaders will support the implementation of the No Means No Self-defense intervention, Sexual Reproductive Health, Financial Literacy, linkages and layering as well as mentoring intervention in 6 Health Sub-Districts of the Cape Metro.
