Duties and responsibilities:
- Perform various front-desk duties in the merchandise shop: answering phones and addressing customer queries in a professional manner.
- Process customer payments using the POS (point of sales) system on the Pastel point of sale program.
- Unpack and count new stock delivered by suppliers.
- Label merchandise and display items on shop shelves.
- Assist clients in finding specific merchandise in the shop.
- Assist with keeping the sales floor area clean and organised.
- Assist with stocktaking procedures.
- Assist with dispatching merchandise items to other shops.
- Assist permanent staff members to follow up on KovsieGear quotations.
- Assist with the delivery of merchandise on campus if necessary.
- Assist with the organising of storerooms.
- Being available to perform ad hoc duties within the department.
- Work at any other marketing exhibitions, such as pop-up shops.
- Being available to travel to other campuses.
Inherent requirements:
- Grade 12 or national vocational certificate on NQF Level 4.
Recommendations:
- Two years’ experience in a similar retail environment, e.g., clothing and gift shop, will serve as recommendation.
- Driver’s licence.

Salary: The annual remuneration package, including benefits is R218 298.69 – R365 979.80 per annum, depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience and qualifications.
