Job Title: Insurance Sales Agent

Location: South Africa Nationwide

Job Type: Full-time

Reports to: Senior Financial Advisor/Branch Manager

Job Summary: The Financial Advisor will be responsible for providing clients with expert financial advice and tailored financial solutions. The role involves assessing clients' financial needs, goals, and risk tolerance, and recommending suitable financial products and services, including investments, insurance, retirement planning, and estate planning. The advisor will maintain a portfolio of clients, offering continuous support and adjustments to financial plans as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Consultation: Meet with clients to discuss their financial goals, risk tolerance, and current financial situation.
  2. Financial Planning: Develop personalized financial plans based on clients’ needs, including investment strategies, retirement planning, tax planning, and estate planning.
  3. Product Recommendation: Recommend suitable financial products such as insurance policies, retirement annuities, and savings plans.
  4. Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage client portfolios, ensuring alignment with their financial objectives and risk tolerance.
  5. Market Analysis: Stay informed about financial markets, economic trends, and changes in regulations affecting financial planning.
  6. Compliance: Ensure all financial advice and transactions comply with South African laws and regulations, including those set by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA).
  7. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, providing ongoing support and adjustments to their financial plans as life circumstances change.
  8. Sales and Marketing: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including referrals, networking, and marketing initiatives to expand the client base.
  9. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on clients’ financial status, investment performance, and progress towards financial goals.

Qualifications:

  1. Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or equivalent preferred.
  2. Registration with the FSCA as a Representative or Key Individual, depending on experience.
  3. Proven experience as a Financial Advisor, Wealth Manager, or in a similar role.

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex financial concepts clearly and effectively.
  2. Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills to establish trust and rapport with clients.
  3. Sales Ability: Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, persuade clients, and close sales.
  4. Ethical Judgment: Strong sense of ethics and integrity, with a commitment to acting in the client's best interests.
  5. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks, with strong attention to detail.
  6. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with financial planning software, investment platforms, and other relevant tools.

Experience:

  1. Experience working with a diverse client base, including individuals, families, and small businesses.
  2. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and client retention targets.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Valid South African driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  2. Willingness to travel for client meetings as necessary.
  3. Continuous professional development to stay updated with the latest financial trends and regulations.
