Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Processing of customer orders as per procedure and company standards.
  2. Prepare quotes in line with item numbers and price lists.
  3. Counter sign quotations from sales representatives.
  4. Forward credit applications to customers.
  5. Ensure coding descriptions are correctly done for processing purposes.
  6. Follow up with customers on revised delivery dates before due dates.
  7. Ensure revised delivery dates are indicated on schedules as requested by customers and approved by the Logistics Manager.
  8. Maintain accurate records of sales orders.
  9. Prepare sales documentation for export orders (pro forma invoices, letter of credit, foreign exchange calculations).
  10. Process quotations in line with procedures.
  11. Update price lists regularly.
  12. Prepare invoicing for projects.
  13. Administer the sales records filing system.
  14. Prepare and maintain sales reports.
  15. Prepare month end reports for finance.
  16. Take minutes at the sales meetings.

Customer Relations:

  1. Address and resolve problems with customers.

Sales Promotions and Events:

  1. Assist in sales promotions and events.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Minimum Matric or equivalent.
  2. Diploma in office administration an added advantage.
  3. 5 years sales admin experience within an engineering manufacturing environment.
  4. Technical acumen.
  5. Exposure to rail industry would be an added advantage.
  6. Must possess excellent customer service and interface abilities.
