Job description

Red Ember Recruitment is looking for a Sage 300 People Payroll Administrator for a client to provide an efficient and compliant payroll service to ensure accurate payroll records of employees as well as to facilitate the timeous and accurate processing of all outsourced payrolls.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient payroll service.
  • Provide general payroll consulting services to the organization.
  • Provide appropriate information and support concerning payroll issues.
  • Ensure payroll protocols are maintained always.
  • Ensure accurate and current payroll data is provided weekly and monthly to facilitate key management decision-making.
  • Coordinate and ensure organizational compliance with the legislative requirements of the Payroll.
  • Liaise with Finance regarding accruals for payroll costs.
  • Provide proforma salary slips for Recruitment purposes as requested.
  • Ensure timeous processing of batches/spreadsheets received onto the system.
  • Ensure employee-elected changes are recorded by policy and that changes are made timeously.
  • Liaise with financial institutions regarding pay runs monthly.
  • Ensure financial protocols are adhered to for payroll sign-off.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations for submission to Third Parties.
  • Coordinate ad-hoc interim payments or collections of erroneous payments.
  • Facilitate annual payroll audits.
  • Ensure timeous deactivation of exited employees on the system.
  • Ensure Pension/Provident Fund is managed appropriately according to organization and Fund rules and regulations.
  • Reconcile 3rd party payments.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Qualification in an industry-related field and/or a relevant diploma.
  • Must have seasoned experience in Sage 300 People.
  • Experience: At least 3 years experience in a related role.
  • 2-3 years of working experience on Sage 300 People with weekly and monthly payroll.
  • Excel knowledge is a must-have (formulas: vlookup, pivot tables, subtotals, conditional formatting, etc.).
  • TES industry knowledge would be a plus.
  • Bargaining council experience would also be a bonus.
  • Knowledge of outsourced payrolls is advantageous.
  • Excellent administration skills.

  • Strong computer literacy especially in relevant payroll applications.
  • Solid knowledge of general administrative processes.
  • Solid knowledge of Payroll principles, processes, and procedures.
