Safety Officer

Minimum Requirements/Experience:

1. Computer Literacy
2. Drivers License, own reliable transport
3. 5 Years; Experience as Safety Officer in a mining/plant environment
4. COMSOC 1, 2 and 3 / National Safety Diploma
5. Clean criminal record
6. Medically fit

Competencies Required:

1. Ensure Customer Satisfaction
2. Generate SHEQ system reports to ensure legal compliance and other requirements
3. Conduct on-the-job training and coaching
4. Conduct scheduled audits and inspections as required by legislative and organisational requirements
5. Analyse SHEQ information/data to identify trends and take/recommend appropriate action
6. Implement and monitor adherence to SHEQ Standards according to legal requirements
7. Develop and participate in SHEQ awareness campaigns/interventions
8. Monitor SHEQ system compliance
9. Monitor the SHEQ compliance by contractors on site
10. Provide SHEQ training related to the SHEQ systems
11. Conduct and facilitate incident investigation according to legal requirements and organisational needs
