Safety Officer

Overview

Hire Resolve is currently seeking a qualified Safety Officer to join a reputable mining company based in Rustenburg. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all safety regulations are adhered to, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety among all employees. Your primary goal will be to minimize risks and ensure that safety protocols are followed at all times.

Responsibilities

1. Development of JRA, WRAC and etc.
2. Safety Inspections and reporting
3. Implement and ensure maintenance of safety systems, standards and procedures
4. Safety internal and external audits
5. Safety systems training
6. Safety database maintenance
7. Safety audit reports
8. Incident investigations and inquiries
9. Accident / incident reports
10. Safety and Risk initiatives
11. Legal compliance and audit reports
12. Analysis reports
13. Accident control register
14. Monitoring of emergency preparedness programmes
15. Check compliance to safety systems
16. Check corrective actions status

Requirements

1. National Diploma or BTech in Safety Management.
2. Candidate/Professional Registration with SACPCMP.
3. Grade 12 Numeracy and Literacy at NQF Level 4.
4. COMSOC 1 and 2 or SAMTRAC.
5. Operational Risk Management Training.
6. Computer Literacy (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
7. Accident Investigations.
8. First aid certificate.
9. ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.
10. Valid SA driver’s licence.
11. Three (3) years relevant Mining Experience.
12. Mine Health & Safety Act (MHSA).
13. Excellent Management skills.
14. Excellent Communication skills.
15. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
