Safety Officer

RPO Recruitment is currently representing a leading mining company in the Northern Cape, who is seeking a skilled Safety Officer to join their team. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment in the mining industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards
2. Implement and maintain safety management systems and procedures
3. Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols and regulations
4. Investigate incidents and accidents, and provide detailed reports
5. Deliver safety training programs and conduct toolbox talks

Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
• Diploma in Safety Management
• Trade Test Certificate
• OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System
• COMSOC 1 & 2 or SAMTRAC
• 5 years' experience as a Safety Officer in the Mining Industry
• Knowledge of relevant safety laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
