Safety Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12
• National diploma in safety management or relevant qualification and experience will be advantageous
• Experience in the Citrus/Agriculture/Food Processing industry will be advantageous

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• Computer skills (MS Office)
• Able to lead and drive a safety culture
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective handling of detailed information and consistent attention to detail
• Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
• Team player and able to work under pressure

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS

• Ensure all incidents and accidents are reported and correct documentation completed
• Ensure all identified risks are mitigated and managed as far as possible to avoid any hazards
• Assist with drafting risk assessments, procedures, and work instructions
• Ensure all H & S lawful requirements are met and adhered to
• Conduct emergency drills and action when needed
• Drive the reporting of near misses and incidents
• Conduct Health and safety audits and inspections
• Communication of Corrective action reports for areas of non-conformances
