Safety Manager
Job description
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12
- National diploma in safety management or relevant qualification and experience will be advantageous
- Experience in the Citrus/Agriculture/Food Processing industry will be advantageous
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Computer skills (MS Office)
- Able to lead and drive a safety culture
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective handling of detailed information and consistent attention to detail
- Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
- Team player and able to work under pressure
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS
- Ensure all incidents and accidents are reported and correct documentation completed
- Ensure all identified risks are mitigated and managed as far as possible to avoid any hazards
- Assist with drafting risk assessments, procedures, and work instructions
- Ensure all H & S lawful requirements are met and adhered to
- Conduct emergency drills and action when needed
- Drive the reporting of near misses and incidents
- Conduct Health and safety audits and inspections
- Communication of Corrective action reports for areas of non-conformances
