What's the role?

You'll be the brains behind our distribution network, ensuring our customers receive their deliveries on time and in full, while keeping our costs as low as possible.

You'll work alongside our team to create flawless route plans, solve real-time delivery challenges, and make sure everything runs smoother than a freshly tarmacked road.

On-Time Deliveries

What you'll be doing :

1. Use a Transport Management Tool (TMS) like a pro to create cost-effective delivery plans that meet customer SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
2. Check in with our Warehouse & Logistics Managers daily to review and adjust those routes.
3. Master the art of scheduling, ensuring long-haul routes get loaded first and the shorter ones last.
4. Be the hero when trucks break down—re-allocate, reprioritise, and communicate effectively.
5. Share Delivery Schedules with stakeholders and respond to queries.

Distribution Planning

1. Review reports on truck utilisation and fine-tune the plans to maintain low costs and high efficiency.
2. Identify underutilised routes and vehicles and work to optimise them.
3. Collaborate with the Distribution Manager to recommend fleet requirements.
4. Investigate non-deliveries and customer returns to keep operations on track.
5. Find new opportunities to optimise processes and save on costs.

Admin Tasks

1. Keep customer data up to date in the ERP and TMS systems.
2. Report on your performance and adherence to KPIs.

Requirements

What we're looking for :

1. A Diploma in Supply Chain Management (NQF Level 6) or a similar qualification.
2. A valid driver's licence.
3. At least 3 years of experience in distribution or route planning, preferably in the FMCG environment.
4. Strong knowledge of geographical areas and routes.
5. Solid understanding of vehicle capacity, fleet analysis, and maintenance schedules.
6. A passion for logistics and problem-solving.
