SAMTRAC Certificate or equivalent occupational SHE training.
National Diploma or equivalent in Health & Safety Management
Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience
National Senior Certificate / Matric
First Aid level 2 Basic Certificate
Environmental & Quality qualification an advantage
Computer literacy, with MS Office (excel intermediate to advanced)
Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the regulations
Experience with AEL and MHI Ideal
Experience of implementing Health and Safety Systems in a highly technical, complex industrial environment is essential
Exposure to and understanding of implementation of ISO 45001 / 14001 and ISO 9001
Well experienced in Company standards and programs requirements in order to pass on knowledge and requirements to others.
Must have experience in the management of contractors in line with the OHSA and Construction Regulations
Experience working in an environment with Hazardous Chemicals would be ideal
Responsibilities:
Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act guidelines and provides advice on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations whilst on the constant lookout for violations on site.
The Risk/Safety Officer is a responsible individual who ensures compliance and focuses on prevention.
