Job Location : KwaZulu-Natal, Richards Bay

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Prepares and cooks meats, fish, vegetables, gravies, cereals, soups, fruits, bakery products and other forms of food.
  2. Prepares and cooks food for special diets from recipes formulated by qualified personnel.
  3. Assists in on-the-job training and directs the work of food service workers, students, and other employees within area of assignment.
  4. Assists in the preparation of salads and desserts.
  5. Notifies supervisor of food and supplies needed.
  6. Checks in food and supplies as necessary.
  7. Maintains food production records.
  8. Cleans kitchen, kitchen utensils, and equipment; secures refrigerator and freezer.
  9. Serves food as required.
  10. Maintains maximum standards of sanitation and safety.
  11. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
  12. Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  13. Promptly reports equipment and food quality to kitchen Manager.
  14. Uses our Standardized Recipe Card for preparing all products.
  15. Operates as part of a team with good interpersonal skills.
  16. Maintains high quality and hygiene standards as per company standards.
  17. Preparation and presentation of food.
  18. Ensures correct portion control is adhered to.
  19. Ensures the food is delivered timeously.
  20. Assists with the planning of menus and stock control.
  21. Follows recipes.
  22. Flexible to work overtime when required.
  23. Stays abreast with food trends as well as best practices.
  24. May be required to assist with any other duties that may be outside the scope of responsibility.
