Caves Toys & Hobbies is a well-established retail store in Linksfield, offering a wide variety of toys and hobby-related products. With a passion for creativity and fun, we provide our customers with a diverse range of quality products for all ages. We are looking to expand our team and hire a dedicated, customer-focused retail salesperson to join us.

Position Overview:

The Retail Salesperson is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, managing the sales floor, and contributing to the overall success of the store. This individual will engage with customers, assist them in finding the right products, and maintain the store's presentation and stock levels.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service: Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable service to all customers. Assist in answering questions, guiding them through product selections, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
2. Sales: Meet and exceed sales targets by actively engaging with customers and recommending products that meet their needs. Upsell and cross-sell toys and hobbies to maximize sales opportunities.
3. Product Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the store's product range, including new arrivals, popular toys, and hobby supplies. Keep up with industry trends and seasonal products.
4. Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, organizing, and restocking inventory. Ensure that the store is always well-stocked and shelves are tidy and well-presented.
5. Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment. Ensure the store is always presentable for customers and comply with health and safety standards.
6. Sales Reporting: Help track sales, monitor stock levels, and report any discrepancies to the store manager. Be involved in stock takes and inventory checks.
7. Cash Handling: Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, manage cash registers, and ensure accurate cash handling procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Experience: Previous retail or sales experience is preferred, particularly in the toy or hobby industry. A strong passion for toys, hobbies, or related products is an advantage.
2. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to engage with customers and answer queries in a clear and approachable manner.
3. Customer-Centric Attitude: Strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service and building customer relationships.
4. Team Player: Ability to work well in a team environment and contribute to the overall success of the store.
5. Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring that the store is always tidy, organized, and well-stocked.
6. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing customer demands and product offerings.
7. Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems and stock management software is beneficial.
