Retail Finance Manager

A leading South African retailer with a unique model blending online and physical retail is seeking a Retail Finance Manager to join their team in Wynberg, Cape Town and establish and optimise the financial function at branch level.

The Retail Finance Manager will build and develop efficient financial structures and reporting mechanisms from scratch. This role calls for a seasoned retail finance professional, experienced in branch-level management, to lead financial controls, provide actionable insights, and guide operational efficiency in support of the company’s unique retail setup.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and manage branch-specific financial processes for streamlined analysis, control, and reporting.
2. Implement financial controls and risk management to ensure accuracy and protect assets.
3. Oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to enhance branch profitability and cost control.
4. Align branch financial targets with branch managers’ goals for optimal performance.
5. Use data-driven analysis to improve branch profitability and efficiency.
6. Prepare regular financial reports and track key branch KPIs.
7. Implement processes to support the unique order-and-delivery retail model.
8. Coordinate with finance and IT for system enhancements and branch support.
9. Align finance with operations, inventory, and logistics for company-wide goals.
10. Collaborate cross-functionally to optimise processes and control branch costs.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Preferably fully qualified CGMA.
2. CA (SA), Professional Accountant (SA), or AGA (SA) qualifications are also welcome.
3. 8 - 10 years of total experience in finance // ±4 years in a retail environment.
4. Significant branch-level financial management experience, with a focus on finance functions specific to retail or showroom settings.
5. Demonstrated ability to build a finance function from scratch, establishing controls, analysis frameworks, and reporting mechanisms.

Salary:

R800 000 - R950 000 / year CTC
