Restaurant Manager | Sandton | Coffee Shop

We are looking for an experienced RESTAURANT MANAGER to run the operations at a busy coffee shop located in Sandton.

Core responsibility:

The Restaurant Manager plays a key supervisory role in the food service industry, providing leadership and decision-making skills for the restaurant.

Restaurant Manager duties include:

• Assist in recruiting, hiring and training all restaurant staff, including servers and hosts
• Scheduling employees to ensure shifts have proper coverage and are within the required working hours for the week
• Streamlining the restaurant processes to improve the guest experience
• Monitoring restaurant finances, including sales targets and management of expenses
• Enforcing food handling regulations and other guidelines to increase customer and staff safety
• Promoting the restaurant and strategising on ways to bring in more customers
• Handling customer complaints closely with the Floor Manager
• Completing necessary paperwork, such as sales, inventory and staff log reports
• Submitting monthly payroll to the Operations Manager timeously to ensure that staff are paid on time
• Analysing stock to ensure that purchases remain within budget
• Managing equipment maintenance
• Taking accountability of the store as a whole to ensure a smooth operation

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience managing a restaurant or a busy coffee shop
• Hospitality qualification will be an advantage
• Focused and motivated
• Good communicator
• Great training skills

Shifts:

• 06:00 – 14:00
• 13:00 – 22:00
• 10:00 – 22:00 (when other management team member is off)
• 6 days off per month

Salary:

• ZAR 20k CTC
