Restaurant Manager
Job description
Japanese inspired fine-dining Restaurant at an Estate close to Stellenbosch is looking for a Restaurant Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily operations of full portfolio
- Deliver superior service and maximize guest satisfaction
- Engage efficiently and accurately to guests’ needs and complaints
- Work alongside Sommelier compiling the wine & beverage list and recommending wine to guests. Ensure wine lists in rooms are updated.
- Staff recruitment & effective management (including rosters + overtime).
- Responsible for stock purchasing, managing stock budget, and flow and working according to the budget
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Tertiary qualification in Food Services Management / Hospitality
- At least 2-3 years previous Restaurant Manager experience in 5-star establishments
- Wine certification course or similar experience alignment
- Previous Gourmet Guide and Eat Out aligned fine dining experience preferential
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele
- Excellent food and wine knowledge
- Excellent ability to pay attention to detail
- High stress tolerance and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent planning and organizing skills
- Reliable, flexible, adaptable & self-disciplined
