Job description

Japanese inspired fine-dining Restaurant at an Estate close to Stellenbosch is looking for a Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate daily operations of full portfolio
  2. Deliver superior service and maximize guest satisfaction
  3. Engage efficiently and accurately to guests’ needs and complaints
  4. Work alongside Sommelier compiling the wine & beverage list and recommending wine to guests. Ensure wine lists in rooms are updated.
  5. Staff recruitment & effective management (including rosters + overtime).
  6. Responsible for stock purchasing, managing stock budget, and flow and working according to the budget
  7. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  1. Grade 12
  2. Tertiary qualification in Food Services Management / Hospitality
  3. At least 2-3 years previous Restaurant Manager experience in 5-star establishments
  4. Wine certification course or similar experience alignment
  5. Previous Gourmet Guide and Eat Out aligned fine dining experience preferential
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  7. Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele
  8. Excellent food and wine knowledge
  9. Excellent ability to pay attention to detail
  10. High stress tolerance and ability to work under pressure
  11. Excellent planning and organizing skills
  12. Reliable, flexible, adaptable & self-disciplined
