Job Summary
JOB SCOPE/DIMENSIONS
- Multi-mineral experience with focus on the industrial mineral, experience with clay, bentonite and/or andalusite deposits will be considered an advantage.
- Able to change from mineral to mineral and apply standard approach and practice.
- Always considering the larger picture and impact on people and the business.
- Able to lead tangential projects not directly related to geology.
- Able to dissect quality-related discrepancies with operations.
- Able to see the larger picture and ensure the data acquisition & modelling approach matches the business need and will yield a reasonable return on investment.
- Able to lead a team of Geologists, and technicians for exploration and mine geology related tasks.
- Able to plan exploration programs, select contractors and supervise the execution of the planned activities and implementation of IMERYS safety regulations.
- Able to routinely reconcile operational data to block models to ensure models accurately depict reality.
- Able to manage, organise, and communicate 5-year core drilling needs for responsible sites.
- Able to report resources and document geology workflows as described in the PERC Code.
- Specify percentage of domestic travel required: ~50%.
- Specify percentage of international travel required: 0 – 10%.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Resource Modelling Annual LOM planning and BMR updates for all sites.
- Permitting Management (MR and MP applications and Renewals, section 102 amendments).
- Annual update of 5-year strategy (Ore Scheduling plan, Exploration plan, and OB Mining strategy).
- Environmental Compliance (Financial provision and liability assessments, NAEIS and GHG annual reporting).
- Capex projects (Various).
- Exploration campaign management and planning.
- Green / Brown field exploration and prospects for new deposits.
- Support M&A projects in IMERYS RAC perimeter.
