Salary: From £30,060 - £33,366 per annum

Working Hours: Permanent, Rota basis including days, evenings, sleep in’s and weekends – 37 hrs/week

Responsibilities:

• Direct work with children and young people, acting as a key worker
• Assist in the effective assessment, implementation, and review of individual care plans for service users in Residential Children’s home or supporting them within the Community
• Identify needs and co-ordinate/implement their individual care plans
• Liaise with other professional staff so that appropriate resources may be identified and individual needs are met
• Maintain a warm, caring and stimulating environment in which service users can receive good physical, emotional, social and intellectual care
• Provide practical and emotional support
• Ensure children and young people are supported to go to school, enjoy leisure activities, stay healthy and safe
• Undertake domestic tasks such as shopping, cleaning, and cooking
• Keep and maintain accurate record systems to enable the preparation of Social Work reports for Court Reviews, Planning Meetings
• Attend meetings and reviews where necessary

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent
• Experience of working with children and young people in a residential care setting
• Experience of working with children who have learning disabilities and/or challenging behaviour
• Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service
