Briefly describe the main job outputs for the responsibilities:
Construction monitoring to ensure that the project remains within budget and comply with specifications.
Monthly Cashflows and progress reports need to be compiled based on the daily measurements on site and submitted timeously to the Contracts Engineer.
Coordinating all sub-consultants in coordination with the Contracts Engineer.
Report to the Contract Engineer and liaise with contractors.
Contract administration duties.
Responsible for all aspects of monthly site meetings and technical site meetings including minutes and approval of minutes.
Measure and prepare monthly progress payment certificates and submit final drafts to the Engineer.
Prepare, check and submit final draft VO’s for approval with motivation to the Engineer.
Prepare, correlate, and compile all documents and information that may be required by the Engineer to assess and consider any claims submitted by the Contractor and submit information with recommendation.
Implementation and adherence to quality management and quality control procedures using the project related CDE and continuously coordinating with the Documents Controller to ensure everything is correctly captured and issued as per the Quality system.
Monitor the site health and safety and environmental for compliance.
Keep a daily diary of construction activities and progress.
Preparation of monthly progress reports.
Continuously compile the as-built drawings prior to approving the portion of works to ensure adherence to the designs and inform the Contracts Engineer immediately of any deviation to the design.
Capture all testing requirements as per the QMS on the CDE and summarise the results. Ensure that any deviation is immediately brought under the Contracts Engineer’s attention.
Using company standard collaboration and coordination tools in line with our Digital Ways of Working.
Communicate proactively any potential alternatives, deviations and issues encountered during construction to the Contracts Engineer who will further communicate with the client’s representative and the project manager.
Provide guidance to junior site staff where required.
Minimum required qualification:
B.Eng/B.Sc or equivalent: Civil Engineering with 10+ years in the relevant field.
Professional registration with ECSA (PrEng) Essential.
M.Sc – Would be advantageous.
Preferred training and implementation of ISO19650 standards.
Minimum experience, knowledge & skills:
A minimum of 10 years construction supervision experience related to Water/Waste Water treatment works.
Ability to work with and apply a wide variety of codes and standards and review project specifications.
Experience with large diameter pressure pipelines construction will be advantageous.
Leading site supervision teams on water projects and briefing team members on scope of work and overseeing coordination using ISO19650 standards.
Pumpstation for water distribution as well as treatment and processing plant internal pumpstations supervision experience.
Proficient in MS Office and program management tools (MS Projects).
BIM implementation – using BEPs, MIDP and TIDPs with applying CDE principles.
Preferred experience in the following software and applications:
Working knowledge of EPANET and EPASWMM as the backbone of analysis software packages.
