Rehab Senior Medical Officer

The successful candidate will report to the Clinic Manager and be responsible for delivering holistic clinical services to all patients admitted to the unit.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and manage the daily care of patients in the rehabilitation unit.
• Participate in weekend ward rounds (twice per month) and on-call ward rounds on some public holidays.
• Provide after-hours telephonic on-call support and on-site emergency care for at least two weeks per month.

Requirements:

• MBBCh or MBChB with current registration as a medical doctor with the HPCSA.
• Current indemnity and malpractice insurance (applicable to both permanent and locum positions).
• Specialist qualifications are an advantage.
• Previous hospital-based clinical experience in acute rehabilitation, neurology, orthopaedics, and/or general medicine.
• Experience leading a team of professionals and providing clinical supervision.
• Strong financial acumen and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary care.
• A commitment to providing high-quality patient care and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Strong patient advocacy skills.
