What the job is about

We are looking at expanding our Sales team with an experienced Business Development Manager to achieve our perceived growth.

What kind of company is Sofico? Sofico is a software company, developing and implementing our own ERP-software package. Our HQ is in Ghent, with 9 other offices globally. We are actively expanding our product portfolio with SaaS based solutions.

Our ERP-software is called Miles and is meant for automotive finance, leasing, fleet, and mobility management. It’s an end-to-end solution encompassing front-, mid- and back-office functions that can be extensively configured to the customers’ needs. Our customers are leasing and finance companies, and mobility management companies in the finance and automotive sector.

As a Business Development Manager at Sofico, you will produce new business sales revenue from a subscription-based license model and professional services through account planning, territory planning, researching prospective customers, using business development strategies, and completing field-based sales activities within a defined set of prospects and clients in France.

This means you:

  • Build trust and deep multi-tiered relationships through assigned prospects and clients’ organizations, from business/project/IT teams to CxO level.
  • Will dedicate 90% of your time to hunting new contractors, focusing on cross-selling our MMP Cloud and driving the complete sales cycle to create long-term value for our customers.
  • Implement methods to grow our business in the French market.
  • Oversee client relationship mapping to the account team, orchestrating an account strategy while leading across a broad virtual team (Sales Engineers, Solutions Specialists, Marketing, etc.).
  • Be a trusted advisor to your customers by understanding their business and advising on how Sofico can help their Business & IT roadmap.
  • Identify the right specialist/support resources to bring into a deal, at the right time.
  • Work with the greater Sofico solution teams to develop a solution based on the customer’s strategic outcomes.
  • Develop a clear roadmap and build capabilities across our clients and Sofico teams to promote an outstanding customer experience.
  • Achieve financial targets set out for the assigned territory.

Your Interests and Skills

You possess strong interpersonal skills to successfully network at different levels and drive results across teams. You embrace challenges with a positive, creative, and growth mindset.

You can work independently, are hands-on, and have excellent communication skills. Negotiating is second nature to you, and you possess a high level of assertiveness. You can present and summarize on an executive level, both internally and with customers and prospects.

What else is expected:

  • Several years of sales experience within a software or solutions sales organization. Previous sales experience in finance & leasing, and/or automotive is a plus.
  • Experience in producing new business, prospecting, negotiating deals, and maintaining healthy C-level relationships.
  • Ability to manage long and complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with strategic thinking on an executive level.
  • Ability to understand broad, macro-level business IT needs for a prospective client.
  • A fluent level of English and French.
