Job description

This International Hotel brand seeks the services of a fully qualified and experienced Revenue Manager to hold a Head Office position to do Regional Revenue Optimization. Working with each brand and each hotel to grow their sales and grow hotel revenues from all income sources by assisting hotel teams in business analysis, strategic and tactical planning and execution.

Incumbent Profile: The incumbent is a leader, persuasive, and proactive. At ease with frequent travel, training, and presentations. Adapts readily to different organizations and understands how to motivate change. General experience in property operations, including revenue management, sales, marketing, and cost management. Understands, communicates, and supports the Hotel Group corporate policies and guidelines.

Priorities

  1. Assists hotel teams in developing optimal segmentation and pricing strategies in order to grow revenues and ensure profitability.
  2. Conducts analysis on hotel performance ad hoc or as directed by DRO and formulates recommendations.
  3. Monitors hotel pricing and inventory management strategies, challenging deviations and recommending improvements.
  4. Monitors market share performance and recommends action where required.
  5. Keeps informed of marketplace dynamics in the region and communicates these to DRO with recommendations.
  6. Assists hotels in evaluating channel and intermediary opportunities in line with segmentation goals and in compliance with corporate guidelines.
  7. Works closely with Area/Regional Marketing to ensure marketing activities are appropriately targeted.
  8. Works closely with Area/Regional Sales to ensure sales activities are appropriately targeted.
  9. Hotel budget process and budget input in cooperation with the other Area Support Office team members.
  10. Project managing rate rollouts.
  11. Responsible for pre-opening RevOps tasks.

Leadership Responsibilities

  1. Communicate corporate policies, guidelines, and goals in a consistent and effective manner.
  2. Provide training and assistance.
  3. Provide feedback to DRO on the effectiveness of corporate initiatives, property performance, and needs.
  4. Provide input and recommendations on regional and brand marketing activities.
  5. Provide input and recommendations on regional succession planning.

General Responsibilities

  1. Perform all duties in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies in order to achieve the objectives of the position.
  2. Monitors and analyses hotel revenue development performance and suggests improvements where needed.
  3. Monitors hotel segmentation performance relative to plan and recommends action where needed to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
  4. Monitors competitor activity and recommends action where appropriate.
  5. Shares best practices within the region, area, and the company.
  6. Assists in implementation of company policies, guidelines, and systems.

Other

  1. Maintains a favourable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
  2. At all times projects a favourable image of Hotel Group to promote its aims, objectives, and to foster and enhance public recognition.
  3. South African national with South African hotel/market experience.

You can be based in their CT offices or work remotely from a home office. There could be considerable travel involved.
