Job description

County Fair, a Division of Astral Operations Limited has this opportunity for a Regional Key Account Manager based in the Western Cape.

The overall purpose of the position is to manage key customers, maximize sales opportunities and contribute to the overall growth in sales volumes and product mix in line with sales objectives.

Qualifications And Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree or NQF equivalent in Sales, Marketing or similar field
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant and proven management experience in the FMCG environment
  • Proven sales track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Strong budgeting, marketing and cost control experience
  • A valid driver’s license and own transport is essential

Other Skills Required

  • Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint)
  • ERP stock management system (LN System) or similar
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Be target and deadline driven
  • Focused individual with excellent attention to detail
  • Persistent, high energy individual with ability to build relationships
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent administration and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and swift resolving of employee, management and customer queries
  • Understanding of the 20 Keys concept or similar programme, is a great advantage
  • Must be able to work independently and cope well under pressure
  • It is essential that the successful candidate be self-motivated with the ability to meet strict deadlines

  • Delivering exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions
  • Attend to all queries in a professional manner
  • Follow and implement company policies and audit requirements
  • Manage the day to day operations of the field teams and to ensure the successful on shelf availability through our external merchandising partners
  • Interactions with customers at store and regional level
  • Implementation of customer sales budgets and targets
  • Consistent customer engagement to ensure a “win-win” relationship
  • Manage own development to increase own competencies
  • Plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent and culture of the team in order to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and increase competencies
  • Maintaining and implementing 20keys
  • Managing Key Accounts within the Retail arm of the business
  • Supporting the Retail Sales Manager with daily functions
  • Sales forecasting
  • Go to market strategic planning
  • Sales Admin (Reports, Claims, Pricing)
  • Supporting the internal sales department to function effectively
  • Support to the internal customers (distribution, accounts, and processing facilities)
  • Support to the customer complaints department
  • Sales presentations
  • External customer relationship management
  • Promoting/Selling healthy product mix
  • Promoting/Selling the full County Fair Range
  • Seeking new business
  • Managing a team of Sales Representatives
  • Driving strategic sales planning within the team
  • Ensuring the customer service excellence standard are maintained
  • Motivating the team to perform at optimal levels
  • Ensuring Sales KPI’s are met
  • Managing our external merchandising partners (operational)
  • Ensuring Sales KPI’s are achieved
