Refrigeration Technician

The ideal person will possess an N3 qualification, a valid Refrigeration Trade Test, and be an Authorized Refrigeration Practitioner Cat B Ammonia with 2-4 years of relevant experience.

Other requirements and responsibilities include the following result areas:

1. Skilled maintenance, installations, and repair in the Ammonia Plantroom.
2. Responsible for all refrigeration, chilled water, and compressed air on site.
3. Attend to refrigeration breakdowns.
4. Preventative maintenance schedules.
5. Willing to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, and night shifts.
6. Good housekeeping.
7. Daily responsibilities include the whole make-up of the refrigeration system of the plant, checking amps, bearings, valves, and the cooling system for any repairs that need to be done.
8. All electrical, mechanical & electronics of the refrigeration machines, etc.
9. Implement safety and precautionary measures as Ammonia is hazardous and must comply with legal requirements.
10. Monitor spiral temperatures in carton freezers and maintain cold temperatures at -40.
