Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Refrigeration / Mechanical Engineer at AMC Engineers.

The engineer will be responsible for design, site management, and project coordination for projects on which we provide consulting services.

The role requires the design of refrigeration and other utility systems from scratch, setting up technical specifications, putting projects out to tender, and managing the on-site quality and adherence to the design intent.

Travel will be required and forms part of this role.

The role is primarily located in Cape Town. A similar position is available in JHB, and therefore consideration will be given for candidates in both Cape Town and JHB.

Experience

The requirement is for an experienced Mechanical / Project Design Engineer operating with integrity, a good client-facing demeanor, and the ability to lead and understand projects from both a technical and commercial aspect while providing sound advice to clients.

The candidate should be driven, skilled, and able to operate in a highly functional, process-driven, and organized quality-focused organization.

Culture

The candidate will need to be able to work independently as well as integrate with a team, as the role requires both aspects to successfully manage and deliver the required outcomes of the business.

A strong self-managed, independent, and highly cognitive individual, with the ability to interact with various external personnel ranging from technicians to CEOs, is required.

An astute, forward-thinking mindset with the ability to foresee problems and solve them preemptively and proactively while managing project expectations is essential.
