Quality Manager

Simera Sense, a leading mid- to high-resolution earth observation camera supplier for CubeSats and small satellites for companies worldwide, is looking for a seasoned QA professional, ideally with experience working in low-volume mechanical and/or electronics manufacturing.

Job Purpose

To lead, direct and control the planning, implementation and optimisation of the quality processes at Simera Sense in order to meet the organisation's quality objectives.

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities

1. Oversee the quality inspection function.
2. Plan, develop, and lead the team in delivering products with the correct quality.
3. Define, implement, maintain, and improve a QMS that meets the requirements of the industry standards.
4. Support and lead internal/external audits to ensure and verify compliance to applicable requirements, including AS and customer-specific requirements.
5. Lead Quality Assurance continuous improvement efforts in production and engineering.
6. Establish and implement a process to determine root causes and corrective action for quality system failures, including non-conformities.
7. Ensure effective monitoring processes are defined and implemented for vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
8. Maintain and upgrade the calibration system for all tools, equipment, etc.
9. Participate in formal design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and delivery reviews to ensure inclusion and approval of quality requirements and standards.

Required Qualification

Degree/National Diploma in Mechanical, Electronic or Industrial Engineering

Required Experience

1. 5+ years of experience working with ISO as a QA professional, ideally in low-volume electronics and/or mechanical manufacturing firm.
2. Recommendations: Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
3. Experience with AS.
4. 3+ years of experience in the management of quality processes.
5. 1+ years of experience in deploying QMS across an organization.
6. Prior work experience in the aerospace industry.
7. Knowledge of Simens Teamcenter.

Required Skills

1. Read and understand drawings and specification documents.
2. MS Office and computer literate.
3. A good knowledge and experience of ISO and the functioning of the Quality Management System.
4. Knowledge of configuration system.
5. Good communication and administrative skills.
