Position Overview:
We are looking for our Quality Manager for our Port Elizabeth Plant.
Reporting directly to the Quality Senior Management, you will be in charge of supporting Lear in ensuring integrity and quality of the product. You will also oversee Lear EPMS in implementing, maintaining and integrating business management system. You will lead all quality assurance activities in manufacturing areas as well as any changes and APQP activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible to define and implement the Plant Integrated Business System as well as to update it according to the Quality Manual and Procedures.
- Aiag requirements and customer specific requirements.
- Vw beon submissions.
- Knowledge of vw customer portal and standards.
- Coordinate all 2nd and 3rd party system audit activities.
- Vda 6.5 product audits.
- Vda 6.3 process audits.
- Maintain the ts16949: 2016 certification.
- Customer quality representative for the plant.
- Responsible to monitor internal audit activities and report on effectiveness of business system to management team.
- Ensure Legal Compliance Audit is scheduled and performed annually and monitor close out of all items highlighted.
- Support Plant Manager to coordinate Annual Quality and EMS Reviews.
- Report on quality metrics daily, weekly and monthly.
- Quality Management Representative.
- EMS Management Representative.
- Defines, plans and implements advanced quality procedures for new products.
- Provides planning, leadership and consultative support for the implementation and maintenance of customer quality system requirements and continuous improvement methodologies at Plant level.
- Assure the correct management of the customer quality complaints, including the ones referred to as products which are under warranty.
- Ensure containment and rework activities at Lear or at the customer are performed effectively as per Lear procedure.
- Authority to stop line or production to correct quality concerns.
- Leads the necessary internal activity to avoid customer complaints.
- Follow-up the satisfaction quality indexes agreed with the customer and global Lear.
- Support Engineering Change and APQP / PPAP.
- Maintain all records within area of responsibility.
- Define and maintain internal procedures according to Lear policies in area of responsibility.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical University Degree (Preferred Industrial Technical Engineer, Electronics / Mechanics intensification). A formal recognized Quality and QMS qualification is essential.
- First experience in a first line quality management position in a medium to large plant, preferably in an automotive manufacturing facility.
- Previous experience working with customer quality resolution advantageous.
- Self-learner, autonomous, experience in a matrix organization.
- Problem resolution skills, conflict management, and clear communication.
