Quality Controller

INTRODUCTION:

Komatsu Africa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking a technically qualified individual to join their Remanufacturing Division as a Quality Controller. Candidates must have a BSc Degree or BEng in Engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSc Degree or BEng in Engineering

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 1-2 years experience, with preference for applicants with the following working experience:
• Mobile mining/construction equipment component repairs.
• Testing of components.
• Teardown inspection and report writing.
• Komatsu product knowledge or knowledge of mobile mining/construction equipment.
• Understanding of ISO9001:2015, especially from a QC perspective, would be an advantage.

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:

• KSA product knowledge or knowledge of heavy earth moving/mining equipment.
• Sound technical track record.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

• Approve in-process production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the production supervisor.
• Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required inspections.
• Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work.
• Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs.
• Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs.
• Advise on hold points within the production process for improvement and collaborate with Quality Assurance to drive process improvements.
• Conduct investigations into quality non-conformances.
• Conduct and sign risk assessments.
• Check every assembly bay to conduct spot checks, dual sign off, and ensure all procedures are followed in the shop manual.
