Job Description:

Are you an experienced professional in quality control with a background in plastics manufacturing? We are seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to oversee the quality of products, ensuring they meet strict safety, reliability, and customer standards. This is a permanent opportunity for a detail-oriented leader passionate about quality assurance and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Control Planning & Inspection:
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
    • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and product testing to identify and rectify non-conformance.
    • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and accurate quality control records.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Lead, train, and manage a team of QC personnel, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to company policies.
    • Conduct performance reviews, provide hands-on guidance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Manage team schedules, attendance, and adherence to workplace standards.
  3. Customer Service:
    • Address customer inquiries and complaints related to product quality, working closely with internal sales teams to resolve issues.
  4. Health, Safety, and Food Safety:
    • Uphold safety standards within the workspace and report hazards or incidents.
    • Ensure compliance with food safety principles, standards, and the company’s Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
  5. Reporting and Administration:
    • Oversee daily audits, housekeeping standards, and ensure effective communication during shift handovers.
    • Provide reports and escalate issues requiring action to relevant departments.

Requirements:

  1. Education:
    • Matric (Grade 12).
    • NQF Level 4 Supervisory Management Qualification.
    • Certificate in Quality Control.
  2. Experience:
    • Minimum 8 years in the manufacturing industry, with strong exposure to quality control processes.
  3. Skills:
    • Technical understanding of manufacturing processes, including equipment and raw materials.
    • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
    • Attention to detail and proficiency in administrative tasks.
