Our client, a leading engineering firm specialising in plastic injection systems, wants to appoint a Quality Manager at their plant in Epping, Cape Town, who will report to the Quality Director. The person will be responsible for ensuring that the Quality Control system, within a specific department of the company, functions optimally and that sufficient quality procedures and checks are in place to ensure agreed production outcome and quality standards of manufactured products. This person will only be responsible for a certain department, and not the entire function within the organisation. As this is a new position, it should be someone that is flexible and adaptable to change.
Tasks and duties:
Managing the QC team (identifying defects and any possible quality issues).
Quality administration (recordkeeping and reporting) also forms part of the Junior Quality Manager's area of responsibility.
Optimal functioning of the Quality Control Systems.
Requirements:
Applicable quality degree / Diploma / Certificate (some form of tertiary qualification necessary)
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment
Excellent reporting skills (report writing and presentation)
Computer literate (MS Office)
Must be able to implement QC systems and monitor QC levels
Accurate, practical, systematic and good multi-tasking abilities
The person should be hands on, doing checks in the factory themselves.
Good communication (English and Afrikaans) and interpersonal skills.
