Job description

Key Outputs

  1. Review and analyse existing quality assurance process effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these processes.
  2. Analyse documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
  3. Create and execute test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications.
  4. Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfil end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.
  5. Collaborate with development teams in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
  6. Make recommendations for improvement of applications to solution designers, application developers, application integration developers and application support specialists when applicable.
  7. Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
  8. Test any new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications.
  9. Analyse formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
  10. Assist in the development of change control processes, practices, and guidelines for new and existing technologies.
  11. Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.
  12. Compile progress and status reports as required.
  13. Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of quality assurance efforts.
  14. Contribute to the delivery of solutions in support of the strategic IT objectives and deliverables defined in the annual business plan.
  15. Conclude performance contracts on an annual basis, participate in quarterly reviews of performance and define training and improvement plans as necessary.
  16. Engage with team management on an ongoing basis to elicit timeous and proactive interventions to remedy adverse conditions preventing the successful delivery of agreed deliverables.
  17. Comply with quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards including relevant best practices.
  18. Participate in both internal and external audits of the quality assurance practice and provide input to mitigate risks as identified in the audit reports.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

Minimum Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
  • Appropriate application (ERP, Mobile) and best-practice/professional certification e.g. ISTQB, BABOK.

Minimum Required Experience:

  • 5-7 years of IT application support and work experience, of which a minimum of 5 years involved direct and solid experience in the software test automation across ERP (MS Dynamics 365) and/or Mobile (iOS and/or Android).
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of core ERP automation (MS Dynamics 365) and mobile solutions (iOS and/or Android) architectures, platforms, development, deployment and support methodologies.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques including the compilation of root cause analysis (RCA) and debugging of code.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with automated software and system management tools (OpenText UFT, Selenium, MS Power Automate).
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices, methodologies and tools.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to conduct research into application support issues and products.
