QA Engineer

QA Engineer position available in Cape Town.

Our client company in the iGaming space is seeking a passionate and technically savvy QA to join their team in Cape Town.

The QA Engineer will develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. Responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions. You will also review system and feature requirements and apply best testing practices. There will be some Jurisdictional requirements which will need to be part of your testing.

The iGaming industry is unique, and as such, the ideal candidate should possess relevant industry knowledge and experience. Candidates with experience in the gaming/gambling industry are highly encouraged to apply.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a similar role
2. Must understand software testing fundamentals and how to do regression testing
3. Must understand how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript work together and using Devtools in browsers
4. Experience in web and mobile testing
5. Experience in test management tools and agile testing processes
6. Experience with Git
7. Experience in JavaScript and SQL
8. ISTQB Certification
9. Diploma in IT or similar field

Desired Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering
2. Experience in test automation
3. Experience in the online gaming/gambling industry (advantageous)
4. Experience with Git, Bamboo, Jira, lambda test or similar toolsets
5. Knowledge of working with automation frameworks (such as mocha) is also preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Attention to Detail: Tester should be meticulous in making sure to look at details that could be missed
2. Problem solving skills: Ability to identify issues by using documentation, specs, and analyzing where potential issues could come from
3. Teamwork: Able to work in a team and let your voice be heard if you have any questions or opinions on something
4. Ability to learn: The tester should be able to learn how games work and use logical thinking to figure out where issues could occur
5. Responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective
6. Create, maintain, and execute test cases for new and existing product features
7. Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
8. Be an active member within an agile team
9. Develop automated test scripts in alignment with best practices
10. Maintain test and script repository
11. Document and report on testing activities
