Job Description

The Property Manager takes overall responsibility for assigned properties in a growing residential property portfolio (between 540 and 650 units) to achieve targeted financial and social returns. Day-to-day management of the property’s financial performance and of the overall level of tenant satisfaction. Responsible for engaging with all key stakeholders (tenants, ratepayers, neighborhood watch, and community policing forum). Also responsible for managing contracts with soft service providers (security, gardening, and cleaning).

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Level 5 - Matric with National Diploma in real estate, property, or finance.

The following experience is required:

  • 3 years’ experience in property management
  • 5 years’ experience in property administration
  • Experience in a supervising position

Other skills required:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the legal framework governing property law in South Africa.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Working knowledge of lease agreements.
  • Working knowledge of contract management.
  • Sound understanding of residential property management.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, debtors, and financial statements.
