Job Title: Project Supply Chain Leader – Nigel (Fixed Term Contract)

Alstom Rolling Stock South Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Project Supply Chain Leader for our Traxx Africa project based in Nigel.

THE PURPOSE OF THE SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER ROLE IS TO:

You are in charge of coordinating Supply Chain activities for your project, from Tender to project end, and representing the Supply Chain function within the Project Core Team.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:

During the tender phase: “design Supply Chain network & commit its cost”

  1. Design Supply Chain processes based on Tender team requirements
  2. Commit on Supply Chain direct cost (direct hours, packaging cost…)

During the project ramp-up: “Secure Ramp up”

  1. Set up & Synchronize Supply Chain processes vs Industrial requirements
  2. Responsible to drive key activities to ensure all conditions related to suppliers’ deliveries, logistics flows, stock policy and system management are met while meeting logistics QCD objectives defined during tender phase
  3. Manage Specific Conditions for Vendors
  4. Identify Suppliers for which capacity is at risk before Business Award
  5. Ensure that Business Awards are performed with logistics specifications including TCO approach
  6. Responsible to pass the gate review related to Supply Chain (DFQ)

During the project life: “Change management” + “Crises management”

  1. Contribute to P&FM and MPS meeting preparation
  2. Coordinate Supply Chain activities related to planning changes, suppliers’ changes or technical modifications with significant impact on supplier’s capacity or logistics flows.
  3. Provide the date of modifications applicability (rank) to avoid excess inventory
  4. Support Supply Chain organization in case of critical deliveries issues at suppliers
  5. Manage Material Availability (missing parts), Anticipate material shortage

During the project closure: “Secure closure”

  1. Coordinate all Supply Chain activities to secure the end of production (Missing Parts) while minimizing costs and obsolete inventories

The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements:

  1. Engineering, Supply Chain or other Professional qualifications at Degree level
  2. 5 years Supply Chain experience
  3. Logistics management within an international manufacturing company will be advantageous
  4. People Management experience of indirect reporting line resource
  5. Experience with working in and with cross-functional teams
  6. Experience of work in a supplier/customer relationship
  7. Strong Industrial and warehouse background
  8. Experience on 3PL management
  9. Project management knowledge
  10. Strong ERP / SAP knowledge
