Job description

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, career-minded individual, with a strong work ethic, solid professional track record, and a commitment to teamwork, with a related Tertiary Qualification and courses completed in Planning or a related field. The following experience and skills are required, which must be demonstrated by submitting examples:

  • 6 years’ experience in proven manufacturing experience in a similar position.
  • Must have experience in a multi-project planning environment.
  • Must have advanced knowledge working on MS Project Software, with an advantage to have exposure to Primavera or similar.
  • Above average command in the full MS Office package.

Key Responsibilities – amongst others and not limited to:

  • Assemble and maintain a Master project Schedule, of 8-16 projects of diverse sizes, to be used for planning reviews of schedule, impact reviews, and resource smoothing.
  • Monitor and Audit Projects Schedules created and maintained by 5-8 Project Managers.
  • Ensure clear links between project Schedules, Design Schedule, and Production Schedules.
  • Ensure Critical path is clear on all projects.
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure correct production resources requirements on Project Schedules for long-range loading views (i.e., beyond ERP loadings, i.e., before BOMs).
  • Define Portfolio-wide project critical path activities and ensure effective allocation of resources aligned according to priority list.
  • Responsible for facilitating Project Priority Hierarchy List definition and rollout through design and Production planning teams.
  • Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Work with design and production planners to define and present loading forecast views for reporting, scenario planning, and reviews for changes or acceptance of new orders.
  • Work with Production planner to dovetail Project Schedules and Production ERP loadings.
  • Identify and highlight global planning issues and risks.
  • Support project team with the development of project progress metrics and control techniques.
  • Host two weekly master planning meetings.
  • Produce Monthly High Level 1 Master Schedule view report for monthly exec report.
  • Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Work with Design and Production planners to balance/smooth resource loadings.
  • Procure On Time Delivery data for KPIs.

Additional Skills Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Must be good at multitasking and be meticulous with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Not a clock-watcher and must be willing to work overtime when required.
  • Unendorsed Code 08 drivers’ license.
  • Above average command in the full MS Office package, Project Management Software packages, and experienced in using ERP or similar company management software.
  • Experience in waterfall and agile planning environments.
  • Must possess a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic team environment, under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and be goal-oriented.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to maintain relationships with junior staff right through to senior management team, and the client.
  • Proven experience of contributing to and leading team meetings.
  • A strong tactical individual with a proven history in project management.
  • Critical and Analytical thinker with effective decision-making skills.
  • Initiative-taker with the ability to maintain and improve processes.
  • Ability to perform in a constantly changing environment.
