We are seeking a dynamic Product & Project Manager to lead and oversee the rollout of a new sportsbook platform across Africa. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in end-to-end product lifecycle, agile development, and operational execution within the sports betting space. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of key projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and market trends while also leading product strategy and innovation.

Your key job responsibilities as the Project Manager (Product) in Johannesburg, South Africa will include:

1. Lead the rollout of a new sportsbook platform across Africa, ensuring seamless implementation and adoption.
2. Plan, execute, and oversee projects within the sports betting product ecosystem, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
3. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, design, operations, and compliance to drive project success.
4. Develop and maintain project roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring effective resource allocation.
5. Identify and mitigate risks that could impact project delivery.
6. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging feedback to optimize processes and outcomes.
7. Develop and execute the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and market demands.
8. Oversee feature development, enhancements, and integrations with third-party providers (e.g., odds suppliers, payment solutions, risk management tools).
9. Monitor user experience (UX / UI) and player engagement metrics to drive product enhancements.
10. Analyze user behavior, market trends, and competitor insights to inform product decisions.
11. Drive innovation in betting experiences, gameplay mechanics, and user engagement to enhance the competitive edge.
12. Use data and analytics to optimize product performance, maximize revenue, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs).

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration

1. Manage a team and collaborate with engineering, marketing, and design teams to ensure smooth execution of projects and product initiatives.
2. Act as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, including gaming regulators, technology vendors, and sportsbook partners.
3. Effectively communicate project updates, risks, and milestones to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
4. Work closely with marketing and customer support teams to ensure smooth product launches and player onboarding processes.

Regulatory & Compliance Management

1. Ensure all projects and product developments comply with African gaming regulations and market-specific legal requirements.
2. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to maintain adherence to responsible gaming standards.

Requirements for this Project Manager (Product) job in Johannesburg, South Africa:

1. 5+ years of experience in Product Management and / or Project Management within the Sports Betting, iGaming, or Online Gaming industry.
2. Strong knowledge of sports betting and iGaming industries.
3. Experience in digital product management, with a focus on software development and product lifecycle management.
4. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
5. Experience working with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
6. Excellent leadership and communication skills to align cross-functional teams.
7. Familiarity with third-party integrations in the gaming ecosystem (e.g., payment providers, data feeds, KYC solutions).
8. Knowledge of African gaming regulations and licensing requirements is a strong advantage.
9. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
10. Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Product Management, or a related field.
2. PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications (Scrum Master, Product Owner) are advantageous.
3. Experience working across multiple African markets within the sports betting industry.
4. Passion for sports and a deep understanding of customer engagement in betting environments.
