Job description

Project Leadership:

Manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, design, implementation, and deployment of cloud solutions.

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-based projects, ensuring deadlines, scope, and budget are met.
  • Ensure alignment of cloud projects with organizational goals and strategic initiatives within the financial services sector.

Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate with senior stakeholders, business leaders, and technical teams to gather project requirements and define project scope.

  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Engage with both business and IT leaders to align cloud initiatives with business objectives, ensuring cloud technology delivers measurable business value.

Cloud Solutions Implementation:

Lead the implementation of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) within the financial services ecosystem.

  • Oversee cloud infrastructure design, optimization, and migration strategies to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
  • Ensure the integration of cloud services with legacy financial systems, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure all cloud projects adhere to regulatory standards and compliance requirements specific to the financial services industry (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, SOC 2).

  • Manage and mitigate risks related to cloud technologies, ensuring data protection and business continuity.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of financial services regulations and how they affect cloud adoption.

Budget & Resource Management:

Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that all cloud projects are delivered within the defined financial parameters.

  • Allocate resources effectively, managing internal and external teams, vendors, and partners to meet project goals.
  • Forecast resource needs and manage project timelines to prevent delays and ensure successful delivery.

Cloud Strategy & Innovation:

Work closely with senior leaders to define long-term cloud strategies for financial systems and digital transformation initiatives.

  • Identify emerging cloud technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by staying up-to-date with industry best practices and technological advancements.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:

Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of cloud projects.

  • Produce detailed reports for senior management, outlining project performance, challenges, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile, or Cloud-related) is a plus.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience managing cloud infrastructure or cloud migration projects, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Proven experience working with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture, cloud security, and cloud operations.
  • Strong background in financial services regulations and compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, SOX, GDPR).
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies and how to apply them in a cloud context.

Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Familiarity with cloud migration strategies, automation tools, and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and best practices for cloud computing in the financial services industry.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or MS Project.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across technical and business teams.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage complex projects effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification.
  • Expertise in cloud cost optimization and cloud governance.
  • Familiarity with financial system architectures (e.g., core banking systems, trading platforms).
  • Experience in disaster recovery and business continuity planning for cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific tools and systems used in financial institutions (e.g., CRM, ERP systems).
