INTRODUCTION

The DELTA Group comprises 19 vertically integrated companies operating in the built environment.

The GROUP has the expertise and resources to participate in all phases of project development and operation, including but not limited to feasibility studies, funding, planning, design, construction and maintenance.

The DELTA Group companies employ architects, economists, facility management specialists, financial analysts, engineers, health and safety practitioners, quantity surveyors, environmentalists, project and construction managers, town planners and visualisations specialists.

Project Manager – Delta Facilities Management

MOTIVATION

Delta Facilities Management requires a project manager to manage projects for various service companies within the DELTA Group including Delta Cleaning and Hygiene, Delta Landscaping Services and Delta Waste Management in Cape Town and surrounds.

OVERVIEW OF POSITION

The project manager will be based at the DELTA Group office in Cape Town, 2nd Long Street. They will be responsible for the management of all cleaning, hygiene, landscaping and waste management projects within the Cape Town region. The project manager will be the contact person between the management team and the client. The project manager will manage the projects which includes management of site staff, equipment, consumables and sub-contractors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Remote staff management
  • Manage site staff remotely daily
  • Arrange site staff relievers when required
  • Review daily site checklists to ensure smooth site operations
  • Weekly site visits
    • Visit sites to monitor staff compliance
    • Deliver stock to site
    • Sub-contractor management
    • Arrange and supervise sub-contractors
  • Equipment and consumables management
    • Procure and keep record of all equipment and consumables needed on site
    • Ensure necessary equipment maintenance is undertaken
  • Project management
    • Communicate with clients as required
    • Arrange and attend weekly and monthly client meetings (on-site and virtual)
    • Generate monthly project reports for clients
  • Quality management
    • Ensure services are delivered according to company standards
  • Project finance
    • Generate pro-forma invoices for each project monthly
    • Undertake budget control/record keeping of project income vs expenses
  • General
    • Attend tender briefing sessions as required by Head Office

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • Prior experience in project, facilities or business management
    • Prior management/supervision of staff will be an added advantage

    QUALIFICATION

    Required

    • National Senior Certificate - Grade 12

    Beneficial

    • Tertiary qualification in project or business management or similar

    SKILLS

    • Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
    • Valid driver’s licence
    • Management skills
    • Communication skills

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Full time (weekdays)
    • Office based with daily travel in and around Cape Town as required
