Project Manager

Our client is changing the game, and they are looking for a Wind Project Manager to join their team!

This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the execution of diverse Wind Projects throughout South Africa, from start to finish. You will be at the heart of contractor procurement and construction supervision and managing key milestones.

Your proficiency will play a crucial role in steering the success of our client’s projects, encompassing a range of responsibilities such as overseeing competitive bidding, business development, managing EPC services and negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with potential off takers.

Coordinating and ensuring the successful construction and commissioning of facilities is the core focus of this role. You should be able to translate intricate contractual terms into actionable insights for cross-functional teams and stakeholders. You should also have extensive knowledge of the nuanced aspects of contracts in wind projects, facilitating effective negotiation and risk mitigation. Ideally, you can showcase your capability to align project requirements with EPC and O&M agreements, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory frameworks.

You would need to act as a key contact for various stakeholders, including the Owners Engineer, suppliers, EPC Contractors, Eskom, and other project parties.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Engineering degree
• PMP certification

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience as a wind project manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage Project Budgets: Oversee and monitor project finances, ensuring all projects stay within the allocated budget and meet financial targets
• Oversee Project Development & Execution: Lead the development of wind and solar projects, ensuring the successful completion of each phase, from planning through to final execution
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between key stakeholders, including Lender’s Technical Advisors, Independent Engineers, and Economic Development Advisors
• Manage Service Providers: Appoint and manage external service providers, ensuring that all deliverables meet project requirements and timelines
• Prepare Progress Reports: Provide regular updates on project status, expenditures, and potential issues, keeping both clients and management informed and aligned
• Risk Management & Protocols: Establish and implement working protocols to minimise project risks and ensure smooth project delivery
