ROODEKOP: PROJECT ENGINEER

An exciting position has arisen in our Roodekop branch for a Project Engineer. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

1. Overseeing installations of new machines and technology
2. Overseeing assigned Engineering and technical projects
3. Ensuring customer satisfaction with respect to all Engineering projects
4. Overseeing machine and automation design projects
5. Developing and implementing project schedules and forecasts
6. Coordinating and checking of engineering deliverables
7. Monthly Reporting on project status and change orders
8. Planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects
9. Assisting in the preparation of engineering project and machine acquisition proposals
10. Assisting in the coordination of pricing, estimating, scoping strategies for proposed projects and in the development and preparation of technical specifications
11. Assisting in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for project
12. Implementing successful engineering and automation projects
13. Communicating extensively with assigned project Clients, external customers and suppliers, both overseas and local
14. Taking responsibility for commissioning and running new machinery
15. Involved in new product development and prototyping

REQUIREMENTS

1. BEng Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering degree
2. Project Management Diploma would be advantageous
3. Have at least 1 - 2 years Project Management experience would be advantageous
4. Competency in 3D – CAD design (Autocad, Inventor, Solidworks)
5. An ability to communicate at all levels
6. Be familiar with ISO procedures
7. An ability to negotiate effectively
8. A strong ability to think logically and rationally
9. Be highly computer literate especially excel skills
10. Be assertive and forthright
11. Be enthusiastic, positive and self-energized
12. A strong financial and commercial aptitude
13. Excellent problem-solving skills
14. Excellent numeracy skills
15. An ability to work effectively in a team
