As a Project Engineer, you would be responsible for the following:
Conducting project feasibility studies for engineering and construction projects; preparing documentation, drawings, and recommendations for execution of projects.
Submitting and obtaining national and local authorities' approvals and preparing and obtaining approval for MOC documentation.
Guiding the draughtsman or consultants in the preparation of the construction drawings.
Participating in the negotiation of equipment supply and engineering contracts with the service providers, in collaboration with the purchasing division.
Planning, organizing, controlling, and executing field construction activities within given time and budget.
Being responsible for incorporation of local legislation requirements, Group standards, and best practices for all engineering and construction projects.
Effectively monitoring and evaluating variations associated with changes in project scope and subsequent cost changes.
Providing regular updates to the Technical Manager regarding the projects and explanations on any delays.
Ensuring proper management of all project documentation, preparation of monthly expenditure reports, posting of the assets under construction to the asset register, and control of all legal, municipal, and EIA approvals to facilitate legal and safety compliance of all projects.
Ensuring compliance with regulations as well as the safety of people and properties on sites.
Carrying out urgent operations such as the replacement of defective equipment, attending to safety issues, and administration-related requests on a day-to-day basis.
Regularly checking the assets, especially through a full scope Annual Technical Visit with the customer representative, and developing recommendations and action plans according to Customer strategy.
Ensuring preventive maintenance is carried out as per set schedules.
Conducting random audits and quality inspections of maintenance work to ensure compliance with standards.
Ensuring that maintenance contracts are implemented in line with the SLA agreements.
Ensuring that contractors adhere to the company HSEQ requirements.
Handling maintenance work that falls outside of the general contracts (i.e. NEMO).
Anticipating investments for the replacement of obsolete equipment to increase availability and reduce operational and maintenance costs.
Carrying out works for safety, risk reduction, and compliance with regulations.
Advising dealers (clients) on technical and regulatory obligations, estimating the costs to upgrade the equipment and installations for contract renewal.
Managing the delegated budget, launching orders, and validating the payment of invoices according to purchasing rules.
Maintaining good customer relations internally & externally.
Participating in asset sales, managing the dismantling of sites in relation to the HSEQ department, General Trade, and Mining divisions for remediation.
Updating technical and asset data (Synoptics, drawings, and inventories).
Analyzing audit reports conducted by HSEQ and taking corrective action, in conjunction with business owners to close findings.
Informing and training the site operators on good utilization of equipment and housekeeping.
Supporting the Contracts Manager in Business Performance Reviews.
Managing the AUC process.
HSSE
To effectively manage and minimize HSE risk within the area of responsibility by ensuring:
Compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guidelines, and legal requirements.
Promotion of a safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies.
That HSE competency requirements are identified & enforced within the area of responsibility.
Candidate Profile
As a Project Engineer, you would possess the following:
Qualification: B.Sc. or B.Tech in electrical, mechanical, civil engineering, or relevant experience.
Minimum years’ experience: 3 to 7 years in the relevant fields.
Experience in project management for engineering from beginning to end.
Technical experience with regards to understanding and applying technical know-how.
High level of autonomy and problem-solving skills.
Real capability to manage the workload and efficiency in the work done.
Proactive and available at any time.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
Ability to work within a team made up of customers, purchasers, and head-office organizations.
