Project Engineer

Our client, a power solutions company with an office in Johannesburg (West Rand and Rose Bank), is looking for a Project Engineer to join their dynamic team.

Project Engineer for Battery storage, Microgrid systems – Special focus on off-grid for the luxury safari industry.

We are looking for a Project Engineer who will join our client's Camps Business unit.

As Project Engineer, you will drive the project engineering, reporting to the Engineering Manager and working in a team with the Project Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

• Execution of Battery storage (BESS) and Microgrid projects leading all the technical activities and coordinating the project team.
• Proactively seek and implement improvements in the execution process.
• Living values of safety and integrity.
• Be part of a team and act as a team player.
• Support of bid & proposal team including costings.

Requirements:

• Degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of professional experience.
• Fluency in both spoken & written English is required.
• Good knowledge of power systems, LV, MV electrical equipment, switchgears, and generation equipment is required.
• Knowledge of Microgrid systems, battery storage, and renewable generation is considered a plus.
• Good knowledge of MS Office tools is required.
• Flexibility to travel (occasionally) is required.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Johannesburg.

Salary offered: R40 000-R60 000 depending on experience.
