Responsibilities:
- Reporting
- Accountability for all transactions recorded against each project within the financial management system
- Provide timely, accurate financial reports to project leads
- Provide variance analysis to project leads
- Ensure financial information is provided in whichever format, and whichever currency that is required by program leads
- Provide high quality external reports for funders
- Provide ad hoc financial information as requested
Forecasting- Maintain an accurate, detailed forecast of project expenditure
- Work closely with the legal counterpart to ensure committed project expenditure is adequately tracked
- Work closely with the HR counterpart to track vacancies and forecast compensation expenditure
Budgeting- Support program staff with the preparation of budgets for proposals
- Support program staff with budgets modifications as needed
Manage grant funding receiptsEnsure that the internal control framework of C40 meets with the requirement of the donor, and that controls are always followedPlan and manage the project close out periodWork within a team composed of a diverse group of professionals that support a global organisationAssist in implementing new systems, updating policies, and supporting any other projects and tasks as determined by the organisation.Undertaking projects as requested by the Senior Manager, Grant Finance.Person Specification:
- Part qualified or qualified Accountant (AGA(SA), ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Strong in Microsoft Excel, able to manage and organise large volumes of financial data
- High attention to detail and commitment to accurate information presented across multiple channels
- Ability to work flexibly and embrace change, and to prioritise and re-prioritise multiple tasks
- Good analytical skills
- Experience of working internationally, dealing with multiple currencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present information in a way that is understandable for different audiences
- Interest in working in the charity/not-for-profit sector and/or environmental and sustainability issues or an international organization preferred
- Experience in using SUN Systems / Infor Q&A and Concur (desirable)
- Experience in work orchestration tools such as Asana
- Additional language skills relevant to the cities included in the project (desirable).
Other Requirements:
Applicants must already have the right to work in Johannesburg. Moderate travel will be required as part of the role.

Salary: (Grade 4) ZAR 715,392 gross per annum
