Job description

To plan and facilitate identified learning and development interventions to ensure competency of all nursing staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the competence of all nursing staff
  • Ensure the correct application of nursing procedures and policies
  • Identify training needs to guide the development of appropriate clinical training interventions
  • Promote a culture of continuous professional development

EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing
  • Post-graduate Diploma in Nursing Education
  • Unit Specialty certificate or diploma where appropriate (e.g. Emergency Centre / Operating Theatre / Critical Care Unit)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 2 years’ Clinical experience as a professional nurse
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a peer mentor
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a Workplace assessor
