MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

We are opening a new Hybrid Theatre at Mediclinic Constantiaberg in the new year 2025 and have a great opportunity for a Professional Nurse Scrub to join our specialised theatre team. You will deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in General Nursing

DESIRED EDUCATION: Midwifery; Postgraduate certificate/ diploma in operating theatre technique.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year post-graduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

1. Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team
2. Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety
3. Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
4. Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
5. Create a learning environment that builds staff competence
6. Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Infection prevention and control
• Pharmacology
• Scientific nursing principles and process
• Nursing processes and procedures
• Develop/ modify a nursing care plan
• Basic life support trained (ACLS; ATLS; PALS training for specialised wards)
